ChannelDeck for iPhone and iPad — Privacy Policy

Updated 12 September 2026

ChannelDeck plays the playlists and live streams you choose. You are responsible for having permission to access that content. The app does not provide a subscription or bundled commercial channels.

Your library stays on your device. Source addresses and playlist encryption keys are stored in the iOS Keychain with device-only protection after the first unlock. Playlist snapshots are encrypted before being cached. Favorites, recent channels, guide preferences and settings are stored locally. Deleting a playlist removes its saved source and related local library data. Keychain data may survive uninstalling an app; remove sources inside the app when you want to clear their credentials.

The app connects directly to the playlist, stream, guide and artwork hosts you select. Those providers receive normal network requests, including your IP address and any credentials in the addresses you supply. Some user-selected sources use plain HTTP. HTTPS connections verify server certificates. ChannelDeck does not operate a playback relay or send your playlist credentials to an app server.

The playlist editor defaults to Automatic guide mode. Automatic can supplement missing listings with public country guides from Open-EPG; Open-EPG mode uses that service directly. Channel matching happens on your device. Your playlist addresses, provider credentials and channel list are not sent to Open-EPG. Choose Playlist / custom URL to prevent the built-in Open-EPG requests for that source. Provider programme listings and artwork may be cached on the device.

Open-EPG receives your IP address when your device requests a guide. Its published privacy policy describes retained hashed IP addresses and guide download records for download limits and usage statistics. It describes daily download resets and monthly aggregation or deletion. These are the guide provider's practices, not ChannelDeck analytics. Read the provider's current policy at https://www.open-epg.com/app/privacy.php.

Live rewind stores bounded compressed stream history locally. History may continue while Picture in Picture or background audio is active. It is cleared on safe playback stop or retune; leftover data from an interrupted session is cleaned up on the next launch. The app requests background audio only for your playback. No silent-audio keep-alive is used.

The iPhone and iPad app does not save recordings or synchronize your library with other devices.

ChannelDeck does not include advertising or third-party analytics. Diagnostic playback errors shown by the app avoid source URLs and credentials. System crash reporting and App Store services are governed by your Apple settings.
